Spanning the full width of the north flowing New River in Summers County, Sandstone Falls is one of the most impressive waterfalls in West Virginia. Beautiful in every season and in all types of weather, this powerful stretch of rapids and falls is a must see during any visit to Summers County.

The Sandstone Falls Boardwalk is the only ADA accessible trail within the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. This flat quarter mile boardwalk allows visitors of all ages and abilities to experience the falls up close without a strenuous hike.

Please note that Sandstone Falls Boardwalk is often confused with Sandstone Falls Overlook. These are two very different experiences. This bucket list highlights the boardwalk, which provides the most immersive and accessible view of the falls.
