Explore Summers County is powered by the New River Gateway Convention & Visitor Bureau located in the Hinton Historic District at 300 2nd Avenue. The Visitor Center is open year round Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:00am until 4:00pm. Stop by when you're in town!

Scenically located between the New River and Greenbrier valleys in the southeastern region of West Virginia, Summers County offers a laid back atmosphere exploding with recreation. Three rivers meander their way throughout the county providing ample waterways to fish, kayak, float, and explore. Summers County is the gateway to the New River Gorge National River, home to the Bluestone National Scenic River, as well as the undisturbed Greenbrier River. The picturesque Bluestone Lake supplies visitors and locals with 2,040 surface acres to play with.

Pipestem Resort State Park, Bluestone State Park, and the Bluestone Wildlife Management Area offer an abundance of outdoor activities.

Step back in time in the Hinton Historic District, with original brick roads, architecture dating back to 1870, and railroad remnants from the town's booming railroad days. With museums, shopping, and dining Hinton is worth the stop.
